There are probably several ways of saying that, some of them metaphorical. "Imua" is Hawaiian for "forward", and it's a word you hear a lot, from hula lessons to political rallies, to the names of non-profits.
There's an old 'oli, a chant, that you also often hear in Hawaii. It was chanted at my graduation from UH, it's chanted in political marches, and I taught it to my students. On the surface, it's about hauling logs, maybe for building canoes. The deeper meaning is about unity and working together.
And yes, most Hawaiians do speak English, but many of them work very hard to preserve their language and their culture.
