Go to the first link to learn about getting a Drivers License which is what you need to be considered a resident.

Go to the second link and use the drop down menu to 'Select a Program' to find community colleges.

Normally, in the past, I am not sure today. You cannot register as a resident and pay resident tuition until you have been in the school for one year.

I used to be the student rep for financial and enrolling, but that is centuries ago. I went to windward community college.

I don't know how it would work if you arrived early summer and worked through the summer and in the mean time, get a driver's license. In August, register as a state resident . . .

Leeward Community College

Honolulu Community College

Kapiolani Community College

Windward Community College

Windward is really nice with old buildings set up against the Koolau Mountains. Honolulu and Kapiolani are downtown. Leeward is out towards Pearl City. All are part of the University of Hawaii system and credits are normally transferable to UH.

Some of these colleges have vocational programs.
